March 30, 2020 - Leaving Staniel

March 30, 2020- On our way to Black Rock Sound, Eleuthera
7:30 am-  While enjoying the beautiful calm weather sipping on our coffee, we observe some boaters lifting their anchors and leaving. Steve looked at the weather and said let’s go. I just love these spur of the moment decision.  We finished gulping our coffee and lifted the dinghy up on the davits

8:30  am- Anchor is raised and we are headed to Eleuthera. We said goodbye to Julia and Brad via text since their radio was off.

11:00 am- What a gorgeous sail with no motor running. We are going at least 6 nm. Steve has two of his fishing rods out. One rods with Ballyhoo and one with a cedar plug.

Hoping for a fish dinner tonight.

He might just have to contend eating Gold fish rather than Mahi.

1:00 pm-  The wind died down and we had to motor sail. We get caught up on news along the way they satellite radio.
3:30 pm-  Steve just can’t believe how he has not caught a fish. Guess it is going to be hamburgers tonight.
4:00 pm - Went by Cape Eleuthera marina and resort. Normally we would stay there a couple of nights since we really like the facilities there. We figure the restaurant and the pool would be closed and I didn’t need to do any laundry.
5:15 pm-  While we were underway, I decided to take a nice long needed hot shower. Steve followed me afterward. It felt so good. Also, put sweet potatoes in the oven.
There was a dark cloud which went above us and sprinkled us with a few drops but stopped within  5 minutes.

6:00 pm-  We covered 49.96  nm and arrived at Black Rock Sound Harbour.  There are at least 2 dozen boats anchored here however it is a big harbour and it doesn’t feel crowded. Sat down before dinner and had a glad a wine.
6:30 pm-  Dinner is hamburgers with sweet potato fries.
After dishes we watched a Netflix series before going to bed.  Funny how we could hear someone playing bongos on his boat. Usually you can hear guitar.
