March 27 - Staniel here we come

March 27, 2020 - Staniel Cay
7:30 pm-  Steve woke up before me this morning. I didn’t even get my morning stretching. Might be because I listened to an audible last night until midnight. Beautiful morning and the wind is picking up. Our goal is to get to Staniel Cay.
9:15 am- up hoes the anchor and away we go.
10:00 am-  It wasn’t too bad going thru Rudder Cur. Our sails are up and we are going 7 knots. We have the full main and single reef. Nice sail.
Not so easy kneading bread when you are  rocking and rolling down below.

10:15 am- Just went they the Galliot cut.

It is funny how we play game with other boats. We set goals to try to pass boats. We are going 7 knots under sail and catching up to this boat. He has 4 sails up but we are still gaining on him. This is the nicest sail we had in a long time.

Yay!  We past them   GaYa sails well.

2:00 pm- Covered 27.5 kn miles and arrived at Staniel Cay.
Brad, Julia and Saggy, their dog, are anchored here. We travelled with them part of the way last year.
Unfortunately we need to keep our distance. Isn’t that sad.
5:00 pm-  Homemade bread came out of the oven. For dinner tonight we are having homemade bread, smoked cheese, olive stuffed with almonds, celery ranch dressing, crackers with cream cheese and jalapeño jelly and wine.

What a great sunset
