January 25, 2020- Nassau

January 25, 3020
6:00am- Woke up to the boat rocking and rolling. This sure wasn’t the best protected anchorage. The sky was gorgeous.

We lifted our dinghy with the motor (usually we detach the motor) and it turned out fine.
7:30am- Off we  left White Sand Cay and headed towards Rose Island in Nassau with Karen and Robert on  Bellaventure.
Gorgeous morning. Steve is going to try and catch us some fish for dinner.  Robert also has a line out on his boat.
12:45pm-  Looks like we are having Mahi Mahi for dinner tonight  Steve caught a gorgeous Mahi approximately 12 miles off of Nassau. He is one happy sailor. He already invited Karen and Robert for dinner.

As we approach Nassau, you can see how developed it  is from the skyline and the fact that there are 6 crew ships on the island was amazing. Big difference from the more isolated islands we have visited.

3:00pm-  We arrived at Rose Cay and covered 43 miles today. The sun is sure hot and the breeze is nice.
First thing I did was go for my first kayaking this year while Steve swam.

We then went for a ride on the dinghy after his swim.
6:00pm- Karen and Robert came over and we feasted on fish, coleslaw, bean salad and rice. To top it off, fireworks displayed a great show in the distance on Nassau.
After a great visit from our Nova Scotian new friends, we watched a Netflix movie.
Went to bed around 11:00 pm since we will be leaving for Allen Cay in the morning.
