January 23, 2020 - Great Harbour Cay

8:30am-  Rather than having breakfast, after our morning coffee, we decided to bicycle to supposedly a gorgeous beach called Sand Dollar Beach. As we arrive 3 miles at the beach, Steve’s bicycle link broke. Guess beggars can’t be choosy when using marina’s bikes. We walk the gorgeous beach but the tide was too high to see any sand dollar or shells. It was still worth exploring. Poor Steve had to ride the bike like my grandson does and use his feet to move the bike. I tied a line from my bike and tried to tow him but that didn’t quite work. He took advantage of the downhills and got a good workout otherwise. We got back around 10:30am.  We sure enjoyed our breakfast.

Chain broke on the bike

Went by a small airport

It was too early to hit the bar on the beach.

12:00pm-  Seeing that the water was calm, we decided to take our dinghy and check out the town.  We noticed a school with students in their uniforms.  They were very polite as they were crossing the road and said good afternoon.  We also went by a community center where a woman was preaching the gospel on a microphone for the whole town to hear.  We found the local small grocery store however never had bread.

2:30pm - We decided to do one load of laundry which cost $10.  Steve stayed by the small laundry mat to read while I stayed on the boat and vacuumed and then practiced my guitar.  They had two washer and dryers and  both worked good with clean facilities.

4:30pm-  We were invited for drinks by Karen and Robert from Nova Scotia.  It took Robert 10 years to build his boat.  Beautiful work.  Always nice to meet talk to new people
6:00pm-  Steve barbecued sausages before we watched a couple of Netflix Messiah episodes.  The wind had really dropped.  We plan on moving on tomorrow morning.
